Droppin' Science

Droppin’ Science is the youth research arm of the Hiphop Archive. Any youth working for the archive begins their research training by collecting historical, political, artistic and cultural materials for their own regions and areas. These areas are referred to as Hiphop Zones.Hiphop Zones also refer to the regional, geographic and cyber locations that are Hiphop focal points. The materials collected provide resources, critical discussion and an intellectual environment that includes and empowers youth within their cities, communities, institutions and educational endeavors. Droppin’ Science provides information about Hiphop culture and organizations as well as educational and empowerment profiles and programs. It works with all age groups, especially young children, adolescents, high school aged youth and college students. It develops and provides resources for programs and focuses on addressing the needs of the wider community in areas like: literacy, mathematics, spirituality, health, family, lyricism, dance, media, art, nationalism, globalization, corrections industry, education, etc. Droppin’ Science chooses a new theme two times a year. Each quarter we provide extensive research, materials and support regarding the current topic.
