    The Bay Area has been the home of a unique and vibrant Hiphop community since the earliest days of Hiphop culture. Born to Mack: The Beginnings. Hiphop has had a home in The Bay since the early 1980s. The Bays preeminent pioneer of these times was the now legendary Too $hort, who began his career by producing rap tapes with a high school friend, Freddie B. $hort would rap about pimpin, mackin, and hustlin.
