Fact Sheets
The
Hiphop Archive is focusing on Hiphop’s response to Hurricane Katrina
and the contributions and concerns of youth who helped those affected
by the storm.

Thousands of young
people, including college and high school students took time off from
school and work, gave up their vacations and helped and
supported
the victims of Katrina. They were outraged and disappointed at how the
government responded to the devastation and the overall conditions that
people had to endure. This research is a tribute to these youth and the
movements they have started.

We are conducting research that captures the efforts following Hurricane Katrina of (1) the Hiphop community (2) young people (under 35) and (3) organizations that have a relationship to either of these communities.

As
the research continues, we will release and continue to update Fact
Sheets that include some of the general information that we have
gathered.
