Honda Supports Wu Tang Latino Video
Los Yo Yais, the first group signed to Wu Tang’s Latin imprint, is ready for their first video. According to Wu Tang Latino the visuals for “Mamita Ven” will have a cinematic feel. American Honda Motor Co. is on board financially, their 2006 Honda Civic will appear in the video.
President of the label, Ray Acosta plays a mob boss who summons Shown Black & NP Killa (Los Yo Yais) to look after his two nieces for the day. The girls initiate a wild night on the town, and when their Uncle finds out, someone has to pay. An excited Acosta says, “’Los Yo Yais are an incredible talent who are bringing a refreshing, soulful ingredient to reggaeton. With Honda backing this project it will allow us to create a mini-movie and take reggaeton music videos to whole new level. We are happy to be pioneering this movement and hopefully this will open up doors for corporate sponsorships of urban-Latin-based music.”
Rza and other members of the Wu are featured in the video as well. “Mamita Ven” is produced by Pure Productions, LLC, and past collaborator Edwin Decena is set to direct. He feels the project will bring “Wu-Tang Latino to the forefront of the reggaeton movement.” Honda’s new Civics will also be unveiled at the SEMA Car show in Las Vegas on November 1st. Shooting for “Mamita Ven” begins October 22nd in NYC.
