Act Like You Know: Hip-Hop Theatre

When did you fall in love with Hip Hop? This course speaks to those who have a passion for Hip Hop culture and a desire to perform. As Hip Hop theatre is an emerging theatrical genre, Act Like You Know examines the development of Hip Hop and its importance as a cultural, political and artistic movement _ Hip Hop not as entertainment, but as a form of expression. Course material will encompass a multimedia approach. Music, live performance, film, video, the written word and web based content will coincide with class lectures and discussions. Students will perform original work and present performance based projects throughout the semester. The class will culminate in a public performance of final projects.
