Expressive Culture of Mexican and Latina women in the United States. Cultural practices and artistic practices in home and in music, film, literary, spoken word, performing and visual arts. Class will focus on the way Chicana/Latina writers and artists re-vision traditional iconography. This quarter’s course will focus on the body, sexuality, and spirituality in relation to health issues. Grades will be based on the following requirements: (1)2 take home essays (2) short in-class writing assignments and/or quizzes and (3) group presentations.
