Hiphop University Homepage
The Hiphop University is a collaborative resource for hiphop scholars and those who study hiphop culture. Its purpose is to: (1) facilitate discussion in academic arenas about hiphop culture, politics, art, values, histories, etc; (2) expand communication and knowledge about scholarship relating to hiphop, (3) share overall information about hiphop research and scholarship, (4) maintain and build standards of hiphop scholarship, (5) work with educational and academic institutions to incorporate hiphop's notion of meritocracy where skills and knowledge are supreme and (6) to encourage youth to pursue knowledge and their dreams.
We are uncompromising in our commitment to build and support intellectually challenging and innovative scholarship that both reflects the rigor and achievement of performance in Hiphop and transforms our thinking and our lives.
